Fourth Film in the BASIC Series
he latest film in the groundbreaking Basic series from Francis Chan and Flannel, BASIC.Fellowship (David C Cook, June 2011, $14.99) joins the characters from the first three films and follows their story as they become the church.
As New York Times best-selling author and popular speaker Chan calls viewers to fellowship with the church like a family, the three characters in the film break out of their white rooms and discover a sprawling desert all around them. A character dubbed “The Teacher” introduces them to a landscape populated by thousands of other white rooms—with, presumably, thousands of others stuck inside.
Series creators explain that each previous film has been building toward the journey that kicks off in BASIC.Fellowship. “This is the film that both ties the series together and sets it off in a new direction,” says Steve Carr, executive director of Flannel. “As Francis Chan redefines how we think about ‘fellowship,’ the three characters discover what it means to be the church. In Fellowship, the BASIC film series rises to a new level of teaching and storytelling.”
