A Simple Wedding
Sharon Hanby-Robie’s first project was the design of her bedroom when she was a young girl growing up in Cleveland. The oldest of six children, Sharon was deemed least artistic by her mother, an art teacher, until she took a look at Sharon’s redecorated room – purple, completely purple, including the antique furniture handed down through the family. From there, Sharon’s mother knew: design school for Sharon.
In January 2000, The Wallpaper Council selected Sharon as the newest wallpaper industry spokesperson. She uses her professional expertise and knowledge as an interior designer and decorating expert to deliver important messages about wallpaper to consumers nationwide.
Since 2003, Sharon has been the resident home décor expert for QVC Inc., showcasing the latest in interior design and home fashion to millions of television viewers.
Sharon has been an interior designer and member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) for more than thirty years. She has had the opportunity to work for some wonderful design firms and had her own business, Town House Interiors, for nearly ten years. Now a freelance designer, she works on projects in many fields including residential, commercial, hospitality, and health care, and is a regular speaker for business and women’s organizations.
Sharon is also a licensed real estate agent with experience in purchasing and investing in both residential and commercial real estate. Sharon says, "Being a real estate agent goes hand-in-hand with design for my clients. They say they wouldn’t purchase a home without me. Some how it all makes sense."
