What God Said About Eternity and the Things We Make Up

Francis Chan

Francis Chan is known for his radical Christianity, focused on loving and serving the poor, seeking justice worldwide, and obeying the God of scripture.  His dedication to the message of the Bible compels Chan to speak, write and preach a gospel of deep love and broad service.

Chan is the founding pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, CA, where he has served from 1994 until 2010. He is the founder of Eternity Bible College and serves on the board of directors for Children’s Hunger Fund (an international humanitarian aid foundation) and for World Impact (an inner city mission organization dedicated to planting churches among the urban poor in America).

Chan spends much of his time speaking to high school and college students across the United States via sold-out Christian conferences such as Passion, One Day, Orange, Catalyst and Youth Specialties’ DC/LA conferences.  He urges young people to take the Bible seriously, and challenges them to engage in authentic Christian living via a deep love for God, a firm commitment to scripture, and a Spirit-led life of service.

Francis Chan has written two books: his million-selling New York Times bestseller Crazy Love (David C Cook, 2008) and the more recent Forgotten God (David C Cook, 2009).  His books have hit several national bestseller lists including The New York Times (Crazy Love has appeared on this list 15 consecutive weeks as of 2/25/11), USA Today, Publishers Weekly and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Chan’s teaching is featured in the 2010 BASIC film series from David C Cook and Flannel. His first children’s books, Halfway Herbert and The Big Red Tractor (David C Cook) released September 2010. His third book for children, Ronnie Wilson’s Gift (David C Cook), released April 2011. Chan donates 100% of all author royalties from Crazy Love to the Isaiah 58 Fund, which aids the fight against human sex trafficking and assists the needy around the globe.

Chan has been featured in many Christian media outlets including the cover of Outreach magazine and Ministries Today magazine.  He has also been profiled in HomeLife, Thriving Families, Leadership Journal, Christianity Today and on CNN.com.

Chan lives in Northern California with his wife Lisa and their four daughters and one son.
