Hope for Your Heart

Finding Hope in Life's Storms

June Hunt is founder and CEO of Hope For The Heart and a dynamic Christian leader who has yielded landmark contributions to the field of Christian counseling. Hope For The Heart provides biblical hope and practical help in 24 languages, and has ongoing work in 60 countries on six continents. June, who celebrates 25 years of ministry in 2011, is an author, musician, speaker, and guest professor to a variety of colleges and seminaries.

Early family pain shaped June's heart of compassion. Her “bizarre family background” left her feeling hopeless and caused June to contemplate the most “drastic solutions.” But when June entered into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, the trajectory of her life was forever altered. As a result, she grew passionate about helping people face life’s tough circumstances.

As a youth director, June became aware of the need for real answers to real questions. Her personal experiences with pain and her practical experience with youth and parents led June into a lifelong commitment of “providing God's truth for today's problems.” She earned a Masters in counseling at Criswell College in 2007 and has been presented two honorary Doctorates.

Between 1989 and 1992, June Hunt developed and taught “Counseling through the Bible,” a scripturally-based course addressing 100 topics (known as Counseling Keys) in general categories such as marriage and family, emotional entrapments, cults, addictions, abuse, and apologetics. Since then, the coursework has been continuously augmented and refined, forming the basis for the Biblical Counseling Library.  Her Counseling Keys became the foundation of the ministry’s expansion, including the 2002 creation of the Hope Biblical Counseling Institute (BCI) initiated by Criswell College to equip spiritual leaders, counselors and people with hearts to help others with practical solutions for life's most pressing problems.

The Counseling Keys also provide a foundation for the ministry’s two daily radio programs,Hope For The HeartandHope In The Night,” both hosted by June.“Hope For The Heart” is a half-hour of interactive teaching heard across America. “Hope In The Night” is June’s live, two-hour call-in counseling program which airs worldwide. Together, both programs air domestically and internationally on more than 1,000 stations. In 1986 the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) honored “Hope For The Heart as “Best New Radio Program,” and awarded it “Radio Program of the Year” in 1989. The ministry received NRB’s Media Award for International Strategic Partnerships in 2010. Additionally, Women in Christian Media presented June Hunt with an “Excellence in Communications” award in 2008.

As an accomplished musician, June has been a guest on numerous national TV and radio programs, including NBC’s“Today.” She has toured overseas with the USO and has served as a guest soloist for Billy Graham Crusades. June communicates her message of hope via five music recordings: The Whisper of My Heart, Hymns of Hope, Songs of Surrender, Shelter Under His Wings and The Hope of Christmas.
