The Big Red Tractor and the Little Village
Francis Chan has a passion to see the next generation of Christians display a much deeper love for Jesus through relevant Biblical teaching.
Chan is the pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, CA, where he has served since its founding in 1994. He announced in late April he will be leaving Cornerstone in the fall of 2010 for direct mission work with the poor. He is also the Chancellor and Founder of Eternity Bible College and serves on the board of directors for Children’s Hunger Fund, an international humanitarian aid foundation to assist the poor, and on the board for World Impact, an inner city missions organization dedicated to planting churches among the urban poor in America.
Chan spends much of his time speaking to high school and college students across the United States. He has been a featured speaker at popular Christian conferences such as Passion, One Day, Orange, Catalyst and Youth Specialties’ DC/LA conferences. He has written two books, Crazy Love
(David C Cook, 2008) and Forgotten God
(David C Cook, 2009). His books have hit several national bestseller lists including USA Today, Publishers Weekly
and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. He is also featured on a new film series BASIC coming this summer from David C Cook and Flannel, the creators of the NOOMA film series.
Francis Chan and his church are committed to giving away as much as possible to the poor. Cornerstone currently gives 50% of its budget to outside ministries and non-profits. Chan does not take a salary from the church and gives all author royalties for Crazy Love
to the Isaiah 58 Fund. This fund has been set up to aid in the fight against human sex trafficking and assist the needy around the globe.
Francis is married to Lisa and they have three daughters and one son.
